Does texting the keyword count as an opt-in?

Yes — that is the whole point. Text to join is a way for customers to subscribe to a business's text list by sending one keyword to its phone number, and the text itself is the consent: self-initiated, timestamped, and recorded on the contact the moment it arrives.

What happens when someone texts STOP?

They are opted out immediately and automatically, and a keyword can never bring them back. Opt-out and opt-in messages are always processed before keywords, so a keyword can never intercept a STOP — only an explicit reply like START or YES re-subscribes someone.

Can I use different keywords for different campaigns?

Yes. Keywords are unique per number, so you can run one for the window sign, one for the radio spot, and one for the vehicle wrap — all feeding the same list. Subscriber counts per keyword show you which placement is actually working.
